Devdarshan, CMI Provincial House Merubaugh

The Regional House was initially located at CMI Bhavan, Jail Road, Bhavnagar. Due to its small and congested facilities, the need for a more spacious Regional House arose. In 1993, Mar Gregory Karotemprel generously allotted two and a half acres of diocesan land at Merubaugh to the Chavara Sub-Region for the construction of the Sub-Regional House and its allied activities.
Fr. Ignatius Plathanam, the then Sub-Regional Superior, laid the foundation stone for the Regional Headquarters on January 3, 1994, and oversaw its construction. The building was dedicated to Blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara. Fr. George Areekuzhy, the first Regional Superior, completed the construction, and the house was blessed on February 10, 1997, by Bishop Mar Gregory Karotemprel, in the presence of Fr. Job Vallipalam, Provincial of St. Joseph Province, Kottayam. Fr. James Narithookil (1999–2002) was the first Regional Superior to reside at the new house. He was succeeded by Fr. Jacob Marangattu (2002–2005), Fr. Jose Thumbelettu (2005–2008), and Fr. Mathew Kalathoor (2008–2011). Fr. Jose Kuzhichalil (2011–2014) served as the first Provincial, followed by Fr. George Areekuzhy (2014–2017), Fr. Emmanuel Kariyapurayidom (2017-2020) Fr. Kuriakose Kallamullil (2020-2023) and Fr.
