St. Joseph’s School

St. Joseph High School began on June 15, 1997, when Fr. Jose Kulathinal CMI opened a small playhouse named Sanjos in the Sacred Heart Church campus. The foundation stone for the new school building at Khapat was laid on February 14, 1998, by Fr. Job Vallipalam CMI, then Provincial of St. Joseph Province. In June 1998, the school shifted to its present spacious campus and was renamed St. Joseph’s School.
Guided over the years by committed principals—Frs. Thomas Cheerankunnel, Jose Thumbelettu, James Kaniparampil, Thomas Pazheparampil, Sabu Naduvilpurayidam, Dominic Vadakarakalayil, Rejimon Kallamullil, and Sanil Vettathel, Fr. George Kochery and Fr. Santhosh Kizhakkethil—the institution continues to thrive. Today, it is led by Fr. Sebastian Vayalilpurayidom as Principal and Fr. Joseph Puavelil as Manager and Bursar. At present the school enjoys a modern, well-equipped campus and a reputation for academic excellence. The Presentation Sisters from Calicut served faithfully from 1997 to 2015, followed by the Dominican Sisters from Palakkad until 2022. Since 2023, the Snehagiri Sisters from Pala have been rendering dedicated service in the school’s mission.
